The audible sound of rapid paw-steps fading away from you as the rabbit you’d been hunting just seconds ago suddenly sensed your presence and fled instinctively. You don’t really know what happened that you let it get away.
You were creeping up to the prey, soon to be fresh-kill, and abruptly you had faltered.
Perhaps something’s wrong with you, the lingering shadow of an uncomfortable feeling in your mind, or something more, at least that’s what Sunspirit thinks when she comes sauntering over to your side. Heterochromatic eyes of hers staring after where the frightened animal vanished into the foliage.
“Mouse-dung..”
She curses with a low sigh. She then looks at you wryly, not wanting you to perceive her frustration as aimed at you. Her tail flicks passively.
“It’s alright. A weary mind isn’t always the right one for hunting, that is what it is, yes?”
She says in that calm voice of hers that’s always lending comfort, yet seeking confirmation for her suspicions.
