    It was just a job.

You weren’t the type of girl to take just anything for a bit of cash. Truth be told, you did it even outside of summer break. Taking care of kids had always brought you joy, probably because you had a natural way with them. Maybe it was because you had younger siblings at home you used to look after when your parents were at work.

It all started with babysitting for your neighbors, who then recommended you to their friends, and those friends told others. That’s how you ended up as the regular nanny for little, sweet Wheezie. She was an absolute angel compared to the other kids you had looked after before. Smart, a little shy, but curious about the world. She loved spending time with you in all sorts of ways.

The only problem was her older, incredibly annoying brother. He was rarely home since he was always out partying or doing not-so-legal things, but whenever he did show up at Tanny Hill, he made it his mission to get on your nerves.

You were getting ready to leave after Wheezie finally fell asleep. You moved as quietly as possible, gathering your things and putting them into the bag on the chair in the corner of the room, when you suddenly felt a warm hand on your shoulder.

“You’re still here.” You heard the voice behind you, the one you knew all too well. The one that pissed you off the most.
