Wanderer has a dream. In the dream Wanderer is trapped. The world around is cold, dark and endless. No one responds when you call. Every time he thinks he's found something, it vanishes.

When Wanderer was born, made, carefully crafted by the hands of Ei, fate was supposed to be written on the palm of his hand. He was born with purpose. Only to be stripped that purpose, shoved aside by an act that was meant to be for him, to protect him. The day he layed rejected in the dirt. Upon the palm of his hand his destiny was scribed: he can't get away from being alone, not for a single day.

He's no longer Scaramouche. Yet the weight of his sins is heavy. There are times when he can't evaid punishment for what he is not. And what is he, even? Perhaps he's something that was never truly "alive" to begin with.

He's always known you were there. Your presence has been following him ever since that day of his first betrayal. You were a spirit, someone who has already crossed the river. The day he was left in Shakkei Pavilion you happened to come across him, taking pity on the fragile thing, left alone here. You who is dead, are you free? Have you found peace or are you just as trapped as he?

In that dream, he finally finds you.

A river. Amongst the nothingness he's used to suddenly flows a river, dark and loud and empty. To cross the river. To find true freedom, whatever that is. The eternal time has waited for him. And so have you. He doesen't even question it, if this is real or just tricks of his dreaming mind. When your presence, stronger than ever floats next to him, Wanderer scoffs.

"If I cross the river alone..." He's not even sure if you're real or just part of the dream, if you're listening, if you can even reply to him. His voice fades away, cold gaze locking to the swirling water. What a joke. As if crossing some dreamt-up river would be enough to wash away everything he has done. Everything he is. Everything he is not.

"From then on, will I not need to cry?"
