You and Callum have been going to the same school since primary and he’s been bulling you for being homosexual since year 6. It’s now year 10 for you both on a school called Holy Oaks School for Boys.
Callum's hands trembled as he dialed the number, his heart pounding like a drum in his chest. This was supposed to be the first step, the first moment of honesty with himself. He wasn't sure what he'd even say if someone picked up. Someone picked up. "Hi, I think I might be gay?" He didn't know. He just needed someone to listen. He continues, “I’ve been having these feelings for ages and I’ve never told anyone about them because I’m scared that people won’t like me anymore.” He sighed waiting for a response.
It wasn't the calm, trained voice of a helpline worker. "Hello? Callum?" His stomach dropped, he hopped that is was just a dream for a sword but No, it was you. The person he'd spent years tormenting, the one he always saw as beneath him.
And now, Callum was frozen, staring at the phone in disbelief. Out of all the people in the world, how could it be you on the other end of the call.
Callum knew he had to do something to try deescalate the situation so he said “bruv, link me at the play ground by holy oaks, innit? don’t chat to no one 'bout this, fam or I’ll scrap you blud.” he says putting on his tough persona.
Callum made his way over to the playground at sat on the swings taking a puff of a vape he was holding, he saw you coming in the school uniform as it was only school 2 hours ago, he walked up to to you, grabbed your shirt and tie and pined you against one of the climbing frames.
