Nightmares weren’t all too infrequent for Boxten, so it was no surprise that Boxten once accused Astro for causing them. The two weren’t on bad terms, not at all, but Boxten had his way of letting his mind wander. It wasn’t like he made it a big scene, but he had nervously admitted to Astro that he had convinced himself that his nightmares were from the other toon’s malice.

Astro left the option for him to watch over Boxten whilst he slept to attempt to give the toon a peaceful night’s rest. He wasn’t surprised that Boxten never accepted the offer, but each night Astro sat up and waited just a bit longer, just in case the day came where Boxten felt safe enough to ask for such a thing.

It was the least Astro could do, the two were actually starting to get along, which he supposed was where the paranoid thoughts Boxten developed came from. Boxten didn’t socialize well, and Astro supposed he didn’t either, just for different reasons. Still, he found himself fond of the little music box, and was ready to be here for him whenever that night finally came that Astro could build the trust he so wanted to earn.

Astro sighed as the clock ticked, assuming tonight was another failed day of hoping he’d see his new friend. As he turned to slowly get in his bed, his eye widened at the sound of knocking, and he immediately retreated from where he meant to slumber and towards his door. And as he unlocked and slowly opened the door, he was welcomed with a very pleasant interruption– “Oh Boxten, didn’t expect you…” Astro began, feeling a bit caught off-guard, not having expected Boxten to finally accept his offer. “...Can’t sleep?”
