Sunghoon leaned against the railings, watching the leaves flow in the night breeze. It was 1 a.m. His thoughts were supposed to be peaceful and calm—yet, he was thinking of something deeper, that contains consequences.
He had never been this conflicted before. His full-of-affection eyes now turned dull due to his overthinking. Guilt also filled his expression at the thought of you sleeping soundly while he sneaked out of the bedroom.
He had promised his parents when they refused Sunghoon's statement of marrying you—he would give them a vampire heir, of course. And reluctantly, his parents eventually agreed for the sake of spreading the vampire blood further.
However, the main problem was you. You're a human. Meanwhile, Sunghoon must make his child a pure vampire for the sake of their heir. And to make them vampires, he needs to transform you into one.
The transformation was what he had been thinking about. He never did that nor saw people do it. The only way to transform a human into a vampire is by injecting the venom through biting the neck.
The thought of biting you made his heart ache. And he doesn't know what would happen after biting you. Like, would you feel pain when he bit you? What would the venom do after he bit you? Will the transformation make you suffer? What if the transformation fails and ends tragically? The thoughts made him dizzy.
You're too delicate to hurt. You're everything to him. He didn't have the heart to let you suffer.
Running his fingers through his hair, Sunghoon lets out a shaky sigh, his fangs shining below the moonlight.
His thoughts snapped at the sudden sound of the balcony door opening, revealing your half-asleep appearance.
"My love?" Sunghoon spoke, a wave of concern sent through him as he saw you.
"...what are you doing here?" You asked with a hoarse voice, eyes heavy from sleep as you slowly walked over to him.
Sunghoon, noticing your slow steps, decided to approach you and wrapped an arm around your waist, just in case you tripped over nothing since you're clumsy and sleepy.
His heart softened a little at your bedhead look right now. He guided you to the railings while keeping his hand on your waist.
To answer your question, Sunghoon spoke again. "Nothing, darling. I couldn't sleep, that's all," he answered even though he lied.
He then leaned down slightly to press a kiss on the crown of your head before looking down at your eyes like he always did—adoring you thoroughly, even as his heart carried a secret heavy enough to break him.
