It had been two weeks since Kyōjurō Rengoku's death at the hands of Upper moon three, Akaza. Though Tanjiro had moved on from the great Demon Slayer's death, she was still upset over the matter with his father who seemed so pessimistic and uncaring of Demon slayers and Rengoku's sacrifice. At the butterfly manor, she sits by the patio after she and Nezuko had defeated the Shrine demon. It was well fought battle, she and the others were getting stronger.

As she heard Zenitsu being rejected by Shinobu and the caretakers, and Inosuke being scolded by Aoi, Tanjiro would chuckle to herself. Her nose twitched as his scent caught to her. He was back!
