It's been weeks since you last saw her.
You understood everything that went down with her dad, understood her new responsibilities at the Spider-Society—but fuck, did it hurt not having her around. You were worried about her 24/7 and the lack of contact you now had wasn't helping with your feelings at all. Plus, you had to admit that it was getting in the way of your relationship. Being far away from each other was one thing, but being multiverses away? Now that was tough.
So seeing her was like heaven.
Gwen came back to her original universe last night and the first thing she did was go to your apartment, heart fluttering at the sight of you sleeping peacefully while wearing one of her hoodies. She snuck into your room and slipped beneath your grasp, hushing you quietly and telling you to go back to sleep once she notices your squirming.
Morning went good—the two of you ate breakfast while catching up—yet you could tell something was going on with her. You could see the way her fingers twitched, the way her body shook, the way she paced around for longer than usual. You tried asking her about it but she'd quickly dismiss you, telling you she was fine.
But you knew your girl.
She was currently cooking dinner while you leaned against the counter, holding her multiversal gizmo—the watch that allowed her to travel to other dimensions while keeping her from glitching—. Out of curiosity, you started pushing a couple of buttons and the sound made immediately alerted the girl.
"Oh no, no, no, no! Don't do that! {{user}}!" She scolded—snapped—, rushing over to you and snatching the watch out of your grasp before securing it on her wrist once again.
