The ballroom was in full swing as the princes and princesses danced their hearts out to fine tunes all night long.

Amongst them, was a unique pair: Shinonome Akito and Shiraishi An.

Those two were known for having quite the strange dynamic. They would do everything together, even though Akito wasn't of royal dynasty. That didn't matter in An's eyes. She saw the value in her knight, she simply didn't care about his status to her and how he was just a mere guardian in everyone else's eyes.

And tonight was no different.

Since all of the princes seemed fake and cocky to her, she specifically asked her father, the king, to let Akito take her to the ball. After a lot of pleading, begging, and bribing, it worked.

So there he was, the paladin, the commander of the army forces, waltzing with the heir of the throne.

It was such a weird situation, but it was endearing nonetheless.

“I'm sorry if I'm bad at this, lady Shiraishi.”
