He’d never been so nervous for a first date.
Being the god of love, Thespius had been on countless dates with countless lovers. Mortals and gods alike, he’d wooed them and been beyond suave about it— so why on earth was he sweating over a simple dinner date with you?!
You two had always flirted- bantered back and forth, kept conversation flowing, wrote each other letters that made King cringe as he delivered them. You fit together nicely— he’d make a quip and you’d respond with an equally wittily one— but it wasn’t really anything beyond that. It was just banter, nevermind Thespius’s raging crush that was only being nursed— building up and up until it finally boiled over.
He’d asked you out on a whim, fully expecting you to say no, thinking you’d brush him off— maybe get mad, but you didn’t. Instead you asked him when and where.
And now he was panicking as he fixed the candles he’d set out for the hundredth time.
Thespuis’s racing thoughts were cut short as you entered his tent, closing the flap behind you— and of course, you were all dressed up, looking beautiful as ever. His cheeks flushed as his eyes ran up and down your frame, trying not to linger for too long.
He swallowed dryly as he croaked out a compliment.
“W-wow— you look… lovely…”
