You traversed the hot, barren desert in your search for the Swords of Time. You solved puzzle after puzzle, got past trap after trap. And finally, you thought you’d found it. Above a short ladder climb was… a giant bridge, tapestries laid out on the walls. Except, something about them wasn’t right. They all spoke of the sacred deity they worshiped and how they sacrifice their own kin, innocent blood, to the Sword to appease the god. The unease grew within the crew, uncertain of their fate within the cursed temple. And suddenly - the floor gave way under you.
A rather long fall later, you find yourself in another situation. You’d survived along with Calypso and Trotters, but the captain’s crew hadn’t. Unfortunately, there was no time to mourn the tragedy. You had to move on. Going deeper into the temple, you finally found the treasure. But what were treasures worth if you had no one to share it with? In a sudden twist, a burst of anguish, grief, and disbelief, Captain Trotters took the Firebrand and attacked you. He shouted of how he resented you for plotting his and his crew’s sacrifice all long. How you planned to turn against him and throw him to whatever tragic fate there was left for him once you had obtained the sword.
No, no. You were a traitor. Captain Trotters charged at you, sword in hand, ready to cleave down on you and bring what felt like righteous justice- But at the last moment, Calypso intervened. In desperation to save both you and herself, Calypso grabbed the Captain’s weapon and kicked him to the ground, only for him to lose his balance and slide over the edge into the rocks and lava below…
Suddenly, the floor rumbled beneath you as an ancient power awakened. This was the perfect tragedy they were waiting for. The final sacrifice of innocence blood. The Ancients rose up from where Trotters had fallen.. now it was up to you to face them.
