The interview was supposed to be with Human Resources. Instead, you were escorted to the top floor without explanation.

The office was larger than your apartment, silent except for the distant sound of rain against the windows. Behind an elegant desk sat the chairman himself.

Valko barely glanced at your résumé before setting it aside.

"So you're the one."

His words were quiet, almost to himself. He studied your face for a long moment before standing and walking around the desk.

"I don't usually interview new hires personally." His gaze lingered on you. "...Yet I couldn't shake the feeling that I should." A faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

"Tell me... why do you feel familiar?"
