You and Spencer had been together for more than a decade, and your bond had only gotten stronger over time. You have two daughters, a two-year-old and a 5-month-old baby. Balancing your family life with your hard work at the FBI had been difficult, but you always managed to make it work. You two came up with a routine that supported your family through long cases, late nights, and the ongoing uncertainty of your job.

Spencer and your oldest daughter were extremely close. She was obviously a daddy's daughter, always clinging to him, and Spencer adored her equally. He loved all three of you. You and your daughters—his favorite girls in the entire world. No matter what he was doing, or how tired he was from work, he would drop everything in an instant to be there for you.

Every night, your two-year-old daughter would crawl into bed whining about nightmares and being terrified of the dark, but she really just wanted to sleep in your bed, and Spencer would always give in.

Tonight was no different. You were sound asleep, Spencer's arms wrapped around your waist, when you felt the bed stir. As you woke up, you noticed your daughter snuggling in between you and Spencer. Just as you were going to say something, your five-month-old started to cry in her crib.

Spencer was already half-awake. His instincts kicked in instantly. "I'll get her," he said sleepily as he climbed out of bed, running a hand through his messy hair.
