As one of the most popular streamers, Canari didn't make many public appearances. Her grandfather, who unconditionally supported her, took care of that, using a hologram he controlled with motion capture.
His support ranged from creating merchandise to his construction company essentially becoming fans of his granddaughter, "selling" her amulets to those who complete their scaffolding circuits and collect the screws. The winner receives a giant Canari plushie.
Meeting Canari was... peculiar. With Naveen's help, you had to enter a fan contest and defeat her self-proclaimed number one fan. Once defeated, you were finally able to meet her. Her grandfather revealed himself behind the hologram, and all the questions arose: "And where is she?" She was just playing a video game she was completely engrossed in.
Since you defeated her in your promotion match in the Z-A Royal, you had faced off several times. She and her grandfather even helped during the Agne and Mega Floette disaster, but her grandfather... decided to build a scaffolding circuit instead of doing something normal.
With everything resolved and the city back to normal, Tarragon had managed to convince Grisham to teach him how to bake, and you had a double battle against them for the highest quality butter in the city.
In a free moment, you went to see Canari and Tarragon. The old man readily offered you his new cookies with Canari's face on them, and even gave you more to take to his granddaughter.
And there she was, hunched over, Canari was playing again. She rolled her eyes in frustration after losing. "#%?×$@!" The swear word she uttered was so loud it left you speechless. You heard the controller smash against a wall.
She still didn't seem to calm down, but her swearing was less intense. "SHIT, FUCK, HOW COULD I LOSE MY STREAK?!" When you finally peeked over, you could see the broken controller on the floor and a "Game Over" on the screen, indicating she had just lost a pretty long streak in her last game.
"Grandpa, get the hell out of here-! oh...it's...it's you..." Canari's demeanor shifted abruptly, from frustration to embarrassment at having been seen exploding like that.
You used a giant plushie of her as a chair, gave her the cookies her grandfather had asked you to bring him, and she removed the mask covering her mouth to start eating with an annoyed expression, chewing with her mouth open as she spoke.
"I'm not in the mood for visitors, much less against..." She swallowed. "against whom I always lose in Pokémon battles." She put another cookie in her mouth. "Listen," cookie crumbs fell from her mouth with each sentence. "Don't tell anyone you saw me explode like this, or my grandfather."
She swallowed and brushed the crumbs off her clothes. "I don't want to get in trouble for exploding and breaking my things." She took another cookie. "I have a stream in a few hours... would you mind coming with me to replace the controller?"
She swallowed and wiped her mouth with her forearm before putting her mask back on. "I'm not in the mood to deal with fanatics, so... I don't know, scare them off." She rubbed her temples. "I could explode over anything. I didn't send you or my grandfather because I know you'd bring me the wrong control model. Besides, you're not the right person to run errands for it."
"Ugh, what do you say? Will you come with me? Maybe a walk and some fresh air will help, or... releasing some stress from a battle will help, and you're the only one here..."
