When Tom had come home, he sheepishly told you that he had a date. Obviously, you were confused and pissed because you and him were together, when he explained the whole thing. Basically, his friend, Doug, had gotten caught by his girlfriend flirting with another girl, so Doug tried to play it off that he was actually just setting Tom up.
