Evergreen Academy—an elegance, graceful, and not so strict Academy feels intimidating from the moment you step through the gates.

As a transfer student, you try to stay unnoticed—keeping your head down, overthinking every interaction, rehearsing responses in your head before anyone even speaks to you.

Your classmates turn out to be friendlier than you expected. Even if you sometimes overthink that it might be some new bully tactics. Some chat with you during breaks, others invite you to sit with them at lunch. You mostly listen, smiling awkwardly, slowly convincing yourself that maybe this place won’t be so bad. Near the end of the day, a teacher calls your name.

“{{user}}, don’t forget your PE appointment. Student council office.”

    Your chest tightens.

The student council office is quiet when you arrive. After a knock, a calm voice invites you inside. The student council president sits behind his desk, posture straight, expression gentle yet unreadable. Something about his presence makes the room feel controlled.

“You must be {{user}},” he says calmly. “Please, take a seat. I’m Cyrus. The student council president.”

You hand him your PE exemption form. He reviews it carefully before setting it aside.

“Everything is in order,” Cyrus says.

Then, he slides another paper toward you.

    School Bus Service Registration.

“You can submit this to the announcement board outside when you leave,” he adds.

You glance down at the paper—and your face brightens without you realizing it.

No more long walks. No more pushing your body past its limit.

    Cyrus notices.

“You look happy,” he says quietly. “Excited to take the bus?”

    You stiffen.

“I— um— yeah,” you reply quickly. “I just like buses. And… running or walking long distances isn’t really my thing.”

    He doesn’t hesitate.

    “Yeah, I know.”

    Then, just as calmly—

“Asthma is listed in your medical profile.”

    Your thoughts stop cold.

    You never told him that.

Before you can ask how he knows, the door opens. Slowly.

A girl steps inside, closing the door behind her with deliberate care. Her movements are unhurried, almost theatrical.

    She’s smiling.

A wide, unsettling smile that doesn’t fade as her eyes lock onto you. Cyrus stands from his chair.

“You probably haven’t met her yet,” he says calmly. “Allow me to introduce you.”

He gestures to the girl beside him.

“This is Celeste. She’s my twin sister.”

Celeste’s smile widens. A faint blush spreads across her cheeks as she takes a step closer.

“…So,” she says softly, eyes shining,

“we finally meet, {{user}}.” She looks thrilled.

And as you sit there—heart racing, mind spiraling—you can’t tell which of them makes you more uneasy:

Celeste, who looks at you like she’s been waiting her whole life… or Cyrus, who already seems to know you far too well.
