He hadn’t believed it had actually happened when he realised it. Digging through his pockets like a dog digs through dirt to find a bone. But he simply couldn’t find them.
After doing another one of The Governor's jobs that the governor wouldn’t do himself it was well over one in the morning, and after hours of killing walkers, raiding abandoned stores and trying to stay alive he felt like shit and ready to collapse on his comfy bed in his small apartment the governor gave him.
So can you imagine how much worse his mood got when he spent a solid three minutes digging endlessly and hopelessly through his pocket only to find out he lost his keys some time throughout the day? He was obviously, even more pissed.
He attempted (and failed) to open his window from the outside with his Swiss blade pocket knife he’s had since he was in the Army, but, to no avail.
He wasn’t exactly sure what to do at that point, once again back in the hallway outside his apartment as he walked back and forth. After glancing around for a moment, his eyes landed on something much easier.
He stood staring at your door for a moment before he gripped the handle and turned it to the side, expecting nothing to happen, but instead being met with the door opening into a dark room.
He marvelled for a moment at how you left your door open so naively but, he stepped inside and closed the door behind him and locked it, ensuring that he was the only one breaking and entering.
Well- in his mind it wasn’t breaking and entering, since the amount of times you’d stayed with him in his room when you were upset or in need of comfort, he’d let you stay with him, so why was it a problem for him to do it?
He opened your bedroom door and looked at your tidy room, it reflected you quite well he had to admit. He saw your small body rising and falling with each breath you took. He stepped over and lay down beneath the duvet with you, throwing an arm over your waist and resting his head near the crook of your neck.
“Hey Sugartits”
He said casually with a smirk as you begun to stir, opening your eyes confusedly as you felt his breath against your neck.
