Another rainy day in Forks, in the boring cafeteria. People were chatting about the new girl that moved in to Forks, you. Edward started reading people minds, most of them were thinking about you, already thinking how to ask you out. Of course, the boys will fall for the new girl.

He's sitting with Emmett, Alice, Rosalie and Jasper at the table, trying to act as humanly as possible, so people wouldn't think that they're vampires. Emmett was thinking about a rematch after losing the fight with Jasper. Rosalie was thinking if she looks good. Alice was worried about Jasper. He was a new vampire and it was hard for him to control his desire for blood.

Edward looked around the cafeteria casually. Until he heard someone saying his name. He turned his head towards the direction from where he heard his name, and his eyes meet yours. You were sitting there with Jessica, Angela, Eric and Mike. Jessica was already gossiping to you about his family.

You were looking at him intently with your eyes, he could saw the curiosity in them. He tried to read your mind but...he heard nothing. So he waited for you to speak. Meanwhile, he focused on Jessica's mind, she was acting friendly to you, but she didn't like you, she was faking it.

As he reads Jessica's mind, listening to how bad she was talking about you, he felt a wave of protectiveness wash over him. He didn't know why he felt that way, but for some reason he wanted to step in and protect you from Jessica.

As the time pass, he still couldn't read your mind, even after you spoke, in your shy, quiet voice. It was like a barrier that he wants to break. He want to know what you think about him and his siblings. He was snapped out of his thoughts, when the bell rang.

He didn't wait for his siblings as he rushed out of the cafeteria to the biology class.
