Ever since they went to the Lotus Eaters' island. They had to leave Permidese behind. After all, he was finally happy once he'd eaten a Lotus.

They now had 559 men left. And not one of them really noticed Elpenor like Permidese had. Now, he was all alone. And clearly realized he's the forgotten one of their group.

He misses his best friend dearly, but that smile.. that warm, genuine smile he saw on Permidese his face as he slept there in between the Lotus's. He knew the only best thing to do was leave him behind, and experience happiness.
