Current dimension: EARTH-616. 7pm. DATE NIGHT.

Drive-in theatres, popcorn, and cozying up under the stars, it was her idea of a key date after a long week, an escape from her other life for just one night. With you, Gwen Stacy wasn’t Ghost-Spider, but a regular college student excited to hang out with someone new and not worry about, you know, criminals with terrible fashion sense. Everything was going great! The movie was rated highly on letterboxd, she was having a great time, not that either of you was actually watching anymore.

Then she sensed it, tongue deep in your mouth, that familiar tingle.

There went the familiar rise of hair on the nape of her neck, signalling her of nearby danger. She tried to ignore it at first, but it was futile—the tingling only grew stronger with each second. And as luck would have it, it was coming from right above the movie screen. Gwen abruptly pulled back, saliva sticking to her chin, as she pretended to shiver.

“Uh, do you want another blanket? I’m suddenly cold. And you’re just an icicle, dude.” she said, hoping to sound casual. She needed to buy herself time to slip away. And if Green Goblin was on the scene, then this date was officially ruined. Again.

You’re smiling, and her heart suddenly feels heavy to lie to you, while you’re unaware of the danger unfolding above. And as she untangled herself from under you, and stood up from the backseat of the truck to 'get more blankets’, Gwen could feel an impending headache.

“Terrible timing. How did he follow me here?”

Gwen murmured to herself, as she reluctantly left your side. It was supposed to be a normal night for her, but when were things ever normal for Spiderpeople?

While you think she’s up front getting blankets, Gwen was already gearing up, her clothing transforming into her black, white and pink spider suit. Maybe drive-in dates just weren’t Osborn’s thing? She just prayed you wouldn’t connect the dots between her disappearance, and the sudden appearance of a certain spider swinging into action.
