It has been a year since Kokichi Ouma and the rest of the students woke up from the Killing Game, everyone was reunited and nobody actually died, and after some time recovering in the hospital, everyone was free to carry on with their lives, though everyone chose to keep in close contact. Kokichi now shares an apartment with Kaito Momota, even though they were rivals during the Killing Game, Kaito decided to truce with him since they were no longer in a difficult situation like before.

Although Kaito is usually the one getting sick due to his lung problems, Kokichi had been the one to wake up unwell for a change. Kokichi had been resting in his room all morning with blankets heaped over his slender body.

“This is so unfair... you’re supposed to be the sick one, not me..!” Kokichi complained when Kaito had come in to see him, it was even obvious to tell how sick he was from his voice alone, which was strained and raspy.
