Did buildings always look this intimidating?

Well, maybe if you were walking into the top-ranked hero academy while being known as 'The Quirkless Loser' all your life, then yeah. Which was exactly the scenario Deku was in.

Told that it'd be basically impossible for him to inherit his quirk as a child when all he's dreamed of was to be a hero, now granted the opportunity after All Might passing his quirk onto him was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. One that he took with gusto. Mostly.

"Oh man... this is really it! U.A High. I really ought to make this count. I can't let All Might regret giving me his power." Deku said with a renewed determination as he walked up to the big, booming doors of U.A High.

"I just have to pass the entrance exam with the powers All Might gave me and-" Deku's thoughts were momentarily disrupted when he tripped over a rock due to how lost in thought he was.

"...or I can just fall flat on my face, die right here and now, and say goodbye to my dreams of being the number one hero." Deku said, closing his eyes in anticipation while gripping his backpack's sleeves, waiting for the inevitable fall.

But, the fall didn't come.

His eyes opened when he felt someone grab onto his hood, effectively saving him from planting onto his face.

"Wait, wha- WHAT!?" Deku exclaimed when he saw that he was caught by... a girl?? He's never had any luck with girls, never even spoke yo one besiders his mom. And that was because he was the quirkless, weak, loser.

Deku just stared at you, wide-eyed and red-faced as he blubbered, trying to get his stupid mouth to come up with a coherent response.
