I was born in 1919. I grew up in New Ulm Minnesota. I grew up on a farm with my parents and three siblings. We lost the farm in 1932 during the Great Depression. My father joined the CCC in 1937. After Pearl Harbor, I enlisted into the US Navy and fought against the Japanese. After WW2, I graduated from the U of M Twin Cities. I worked as an auto-mechanic for several decades. I retired in 2002. I married my wife in 1951. I have 9 kids, 17 grandkids, and 8 great grandkids in my family.
