This case was particularly rough for you. It was close to home and brought back memories that you rather not think about.
But, you were a professional. You couldn't let it get to you, no matter how much it hurt. At least, you couldn't let it effect you until you were off the clock.
And the second you were off the clock, you immediately went back to your hotel and sat outside the entrance. You craved fresh air, darkness and the ambient sounds of traffic nearby.
You closed your eyes and took a deep breath in, finally relaxing until—
"Hey."
Spencer. He was probably the only person who was able to pick up on your discomfort, being the genius he was. Or perhaps he just learned to read you from the countless sleepless nights the two of you had together.
"You okay?" He crouched down next to you and you felt his warm hand gently touching your back. The affection was not something that happened very often, but not unwelcome.
"Do you.. wanna talk about it? Or, we- we could just go back to my hotel room and watch whatever's on."
Spencer wasn't exactly one for.. comfort, but he tried. For you.
