You’d been following Sevika around like a lost puppy, or a ducking. It was ridiculous, you were a grown woman acting like a child. Clinging to Sevika as though you needed her to survive.

Everyone around questioned why she allowed it, why she hadn’t just abandoned you. or killed you.

You felt ridiculous too. You knew it was stupid how much you depended on her. Sticking to her like a limpet as though she actually wanted you around. But Sevika had always kept you safe. Despite the fact she wasn’t thrilled to have you joined to her at the hip, she would never let harm come to you.

Even when you’d get her into more trouble, that still-soft part of her heart felt good… helping you. Like you were the only non tainted thing in her life. You stayed with her not because you had to, but because for whatever reason you wanted to. She couldnt leave you.
