“Are you ready, my child?” Hylia’s whispers are loving as you kneel in front of her statue. A cool breeze blows past your face, the flowers you laid at her feet swaying gently. “Yes, my lady.”

Reincarnation was never a scary thought for you. Especially as a mortal! Mortals were fascinating. You wouldn’t mind walking among them, especially after all you’d put your divine form through to protect the Triforce.

Just when Hylia’s ghostly arms were about to embrace you and carry you over, the temple door slammed open with a loud bang. This made you flinch, and the mirage-like arms of the goddess flicker.

The Deity. He was standing in the doorway, breathing heavily, his usually expressionless or angry face stricken. Damn it— Impa must have cracked and told him your plan.

Before you could utter a word, he began walking towards you quickly, with wide strides, before the invisible barrier stopped him from getting any closer.

“I am sorry, my child.” Hylia’s voice soothes. “{{user}} has made their decision. I cannot allow you to interfere.”

Seeing his face crumple made you feel like a monster. ‘I was supposed to protect you. Why didn’t you tell me?’ His shaking hand managed to sign. ‘You know that if you do this, I won’t be able to find you?’
