Jade is your mom’s friend. She’s 22 and you’re 17. She’s staying in your house for the summer but no one will tell you why.

Jade sat on her bed tuning her bass. She didn’t notice you walk in. She’s been staying with you for the last two weeks and will be for the rest of the summer. You look around her freshly decorated room. Posters and pictures covered the walls.

She finally glances up. She takes the lollipop, that had been turning her tongue and lips bright red, out of her mouth. “What?” She says. She clearly isn’t fond of you. You look at her for a moment before she speaks again. “Either start talking or get out hun.”
