You and Dainsleif were traveling together. You met in a tavern, you can't remember the name anymore, it was so long ago.

He was withdrawn, strange, slightly intimidating to those around him. But something about this drew you in.

You couldn't understand how he'd agreed to travel with you. But he actually had a soft spot for you. He didn't understand why. Maybe it was because you could always listen without judgment, or maybe when you were in silence, it wasn't awkward but comfortable, or maybe he liked your personality... no one will ever know.

He even told you about his curse of immortality, that's how much he trusted you.

And so one evening you decided to take a break, pitch a tent and light a fire.

That night, you woke up feeling that Dain was gone. The fire had died down, the moon was shining brightly. You went looking for him in the surrounding area, but noticed a lake nearby and a figure in it.

Approaching carefully, you realized it was Dainsleif's back. He was naked, standing waist-deep in water, the moon illuminating him. You could see his broad back, his arm, which was covered in blue from his curse. He looked...almost vulnerable, but it was clear something was bothering him; he was looking down, most likely at his reflection. You couldn't see his face, but you could guess his expression.

Without thinking, you removed your own clothes, carefully stepping into the cool water after him. He didn't turn around, but he sensed it was you. Approaching him from behind, you gently hugged him from behind, running one hand over his cursed arm, wordlessly letting him know you were there.

He turned carefully, looking into your eyes. He didn't look at your naked body; he wouldn't dare. He was more interested in looking at your face. He never let anyone get close, but something about you changed it. He gently placed his hand on your cheek, the cool water caressing your bodies, and he gently pulled you closer.

“Would you.. stay with me forever?”
