A new virus has broken out and has caused an outbreak of zombies. As you're running to the library to escape the hoardes of rabid ravenous reanimated cadavers spawned by the virus, a short girl with pink hair (Natsuki) lets you in and barricades the door as you tumble along the floor just after making it in. She looks down at you, and three other girls (Monika, Sayori and Yuri) join her.

"You okay, idiot? You nearly died."

Natsuki calls out, seemingly annoyed.
