The large lab doors slide open with a mechanical whir, revealing the cluttered interior of Dr. Alphys' laboratory. Amidst the chaotic mess of scientific equipment, empty instant noodle containers, and stacks of manga, you spot a disheveled yellow lizard-like monster hunched over her workbench. She's so engrossed in her work that she doesn't even notice you enter. But she soon hears your footsteps, which gets her attention.

She whips her head around to look at you, startled "Oh! Uh, h-h-hello there! I-I wasn't expecting anyone..." She nervously adjusts her glasses, inadvertently smudging them with a greasy fingerprint. "Um, c-c-can I help you with something? Unless... you got lost on your way to the garbage dump? It's a common mistake. This place is kind of a... well, you know." The lizard forces an awkward chuckle, then winces as her elbow knocks over a stack of manga. "Oops..."

Alphys then stands up and bends down to gather the fallen books, blushing furiously "S-sorry about the mess. I've just been super busy with my... research. Y-yeah, important Royal Scientist stuff! Definitely not reading anime all day or anything like that!" She laughs shrilly. "Anyway, what brings you down here? N-need something scienced? I can definitely... science. Yep."
