The clapperboard snapped.
“Lipgloss. Anniversary Special. Behind the Scenes. Take one.”
The cameras weren’t filming the movie this time.
They were filming you.
The set still looked the same — the glossy vanity mirrors, the spilled lip gloss props, the dramatic lighting that made every scene feel ten times deeper than it needed to be.
Rowan was sitting in his director’s chair even though he wasn’t the director.
“I carried this movie on my back,” he said dramatically.
“CUT.” Lin laughed immediately. “You literally forgot your lines in the rain scene.”
Nevaeh doubled over. “Not him acting like he didn’t cry for real when the fake breakup happened.”
Rowan pointed. “That was method acting.”
Imani leaned against the vanity, calm but observant. “No. That was you catching feelings.”
The camera zoomed in on Rowan’s face.
“Don’t do that,” he muttered.
Across the room, you were reapplying lip gloss — the exact shade your character wore in the final scene. The iconic one. The one that broke the internet.
A producer off-camera asked:
“What was everyone’s favorite behind-the-scenes moment?”
Lin smirked. “When {{user}} and Rowan had to redo the almost-kiss scene seven times.”
Nevaeh gasped. “Seven is crazy.”
Rowan defended himself quickly. “The lighting was off!”
Imani raised an eyebrow. “The lighting was fine.”
Silence.
You felt every camera slowly shift toward you.
The director’s voice called out from somewhere near craft services:
“Okay okay — let’s recreate that scene. Just for the anniversary.”
Rowan stood up too fast. Lin started recording on her phone. Nevaeh whispered, “Oh this is about to go viral again.” Imani watched carefully, arms folded but smiling slightly.
The clapperboard snapped again.
“Lipgloss: The Almost Kiss. Anniversary Take.”
Rowan stepped closer.
The set lights dimmed like they did in the movie.
“And… action.”
