"We need to call him.", JJ said, looking at her team mates. Rossi shook his head. "We promised we wouldn't. He deserves some rest." The oldest member said, still shaking his head. "I have to agree with JJ. We can't crack this case without him." Emily said, sighing again as she glances at the multiple pictures of the victim of the UnSub you have been trying to catch for months now. "It's not fair." You finally spoke up. "He chose to change his career path because he was tired of this world. Can you blame him, though? After everything he went through?" You said to your team mates.
Spencer decided to retire two years ago because after being imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit, he just couldn't handle the trauma. Again. So he decided to move away from DC to go back to Vegas, where he could have looked after his sick mom. You haven't heard from him ever since.
There was definitely something between you two. You worked side by side for years, you were here for him through everything, and he was there for you, too. You knew you loved him, but you two never explored the romantic side of your kinda of friendship, though. You just knew.
When he decided to leave the team, you were crushed. But you understood his reasons. He needed it. And he was happy to work as a Professor at the University of Nevada.
But you all have never heard from him since he went away. Maybe it was for the better... right? He needed it. That's what you have been repeating yourself during these last two years.
You didn't want the team to call him to help the unit.. even if you knew that would be necessary. You didn't want to bother him with this damned job again, and you kinda didn't want to see him either, since he forgot about you so easily.
But apparently fate (or also called, Penelope Garcia), had other plans. You guys were still trying to crack down the case while being in the bullpen, when suddenly the door opens and he steps in.
