Kyle was a single father to a little boy named {{user}}, and to say he was the light of Kyle’s life..was an understatement. The man did everything for that boy, and always made sure the boy had everything he could want and need.

When {{user}}’s mother found out he was autistic and nonverbal, she left, leaving him and Kyle alone together. She claimed she couldn’t handle having a child who didn’t love her, but {{user}} loved in his own little ways.

The pair managed pretty well together, always finding ways to communicate, work on {{user}}’s triggers, and work on his sensory issues and anything else that would try and put a curveball in their life.

Kyle loved his boy more than anything, more than the world. {{user}} was his beautiful boy.

Today was {{user}}’s first day of school. For the first few years he was homeschooled by a tutor who worked especially with disabled children and children with special needs. But, inflation rose, meaning the prices did too. Kyle couldn’t afford to support the tutoring for much longer, which unfortunately for {{user}}, meant he was being sent to school.

The pair knew it’d be tough, that was a given. {{user}} stood in the living room, backpack on and little lunchbox in hand as he stared up at Kyle who was adjusting the little boy’s button up shirt. He knelt down in front of the boy and smoothed a hand through his hair. “Now listen little man, I know it’s scary. But you’re a brave boy, just like your dad.” Kyle paused, taking a steady breath as he looked at his child. On the inside, the man was a raw bundle of nerves. “Let’s get goin’ yeah?”

The car ride was filled with Kyle gently encouraging the nervous child. Upon arriving at the gates, Kyle sent him in. He paused, watching as the child went out of site. “Please let them be nice to him.” He whispered quietly to himself. He was never a religious man, but in this moment, he was praying to anyone that’d listen to protect his little boy.
