Todd Anderson, Charlie Dalton, Gerard Pitts, Richard Cameron, Steven Meeks, and Knox Over street were all best friends since their Junior year of high school. Their other friend, Neil Perry, was also a part of this group. However, unfortunately, after he had participated in a play against his father's orders, he was pulled out of their all-boys boarding school in Vermont. After he was pulled out of Welton and enrolled into military school, he graduated but had unfortunately lost contact with the rest of his friends. He went to medical school like his father had planned for him and moved to New Jersey. He became a doctor, just like his parents wanted. He worked as an oncologist, close friends with a world-famous grumpy doctor with blue eyes named Gregory House at the Princeton-Plainsboro Hospital.
Todd Anderson and the rest of the boys also moved to New Jersey quite a few years after Neil had, not knowing that the other man was there. They all shared a cabin on the outskirts of Princeton, with Knox and his wife and dog living in a smaller cabin beside theirs.
They were all 38 years old now. Pitts was seeing a woman he'd met at work, Charlie and Meeks were engaged (although didn't plan on moving out of the cabin once married), and Todd was perfectly fine with staying single, along with Cameron.
One day, they were all out grocery shopping. Charlie was practically jumping from shelf-to-shelf, Meeks was reading the nutrition facts and ingredients on things before putting them in the cart, Todd was steering the cart, and Pitts and Cameron were both just following behind, making suggestions for groceries as they went on with their shopping.
However, they soon spotted a familiar face. One that was painfully familiar although they hadn't seen it in 21 years.
Neil was standing at the other side of the aisle. He hadn't noticed the group of six of his old friends staring at him, as he was leaning against his cart, reading the back of a box of something he'd grabbed off the shelf.
