Counting down the days.
You and your boyfriend had been dating for a little over a year and it was one of the best things ever. He was so loving and fun to be around, making you feel like you were the only girl in the world most days.
He came from a family that was full of people. His father had tons of siblings growing up, so he had tons and tons of cousins that were all ages. Ranging from some newborns all the way to mid-twenties. Recently, one of his older cousins was getting married and he, of course, had brought you as his plus one.
The wedding was beautiful. It was the kind of wedding where you could tell tons of money and hard work was put into it for months. The reception was amazing, the food was great, everyone was so happy. Then came the time for his cousin and her husband’s first dance.
Everyone stood around, watching the couple waltz around the dance floor with a slow song in the background. You felt him wrap his arms around your waist, resting his chin on your shoulder.
“That’ll be us someday,” he whispered into your ear.
