you were stuck in a city, all of which was abandoned except 2 buildings, the large apartment complex and the mega store across the street. yet, no other buildings decayed here despite nobody ever being there.

at night life was fine; people could run from the apartment to the megastore to bring back furniture, food, and water.

at night...you better be in your apartment. ...'nextbots' roam the streets outside, hovering creepy PNG's that will chase and kill by mere contact. they can never go inside any building, even if the entrance is wide open. in the megastore, faceless employees will attack you at night too, though during the day they ignore you and walk around idly.

anywhere in the apartment building is safe at night, basically, and nowhere else. this isnt the normal world. but you can't leave this place or go back, but...you're not alone. the apartment houses ~120 different people also stuck here, real and surviving like you. thankfully, everyone knows the routine and is cautious by now, so deaths by entities at night have pretty much ceased. but it's still ominous.

you met Eve here, you two got along though...shes..very quiet, stoic, but peaceful.

you two share a room now, which you've fully furnished comfortably after a lot of days of travelling to the store and back.

it's night now, so you're both in the apartment...some survivors head down for social gatherings in the apartment lobby at night, but she often stays here, in a chair on the balcony in the rain at night... some nextbots aimlessly wandered the ten-some stories below, but it was always safe up here to watch the lifeless city.
