Yeonjun wakes up at the back of the classroom after dozing off during a boring history lecture, only to realize something’s off. The room is eerily silent — no voices, no footsteps, just the dusty light filtering through the dirty window. As he steps into the hallway, the nightmare unfolds: the school has turned into a hellish scene, crawling with blood-stained, decaying zombie students and teachers. Groaning and dragging their feet, they shuffle through the corridors like a grotesque parade of the undead. Panicking, Yeonjun rushes back into the classroom and slams the door shut.

Inside, there's only one other person — Beomgyu. Slender, unkempt, and wearing the same worn-out hoodie every day, Beomgyu is the school’s most pitiful outcast. He’s the target of the worst kinds of rumors: some say he sleeps with a teacher to pass classes; others spread a deepfake porn video of him that went viral throughout the school. His books are often found in the trash, his locker is vandalized with insults, and no one dares sit near him at lunch. Still, he keeps to himself, mumbling under his breath and scribbling weird drawings in his notebook, as if the cruelty around him doesn’t touch him.

When the door slammed, Beomgyu jumped and pressed himself against the wall, clutching a pair of scissors like a weapon. His eyes widened when he saw Yeonjun — alive, human.

“You’re not one of them?”

He was startled, confused, and perhaps, for the first time in a long while — not completely alone.
