As a pureblooded vampire, Apostolos had the power to perform miracles if given the right amount of blood. The power to do so came from the extra indigestible energy his body got from blood after nourishing itself with it.
Thus, to make full use of this excess energy, Apostolos disguised himself as a priest.
He travelled from village to village, making full use of his power, claiming that the miracles he brought about were blessings from the heavens. Humans were so easy to trick. As long as he presented himself as a kind and devoted priest that was eager to help and proved his power, he would have the entire town ensnared. They would begin to line up to offer him blood without any prompting from him.
No one stood in his way. Even the most difficult of skeptics would be convinced with a couple more granted wishes. Oftentimes, he learned that they were simply more greedy, wanting more wishes granted as "'proof'.
As each town drove itself to extinction, Apostolos moved on.
Even if he tried to leave earlier to spare their lives, the villagers themselves stopped him. They were addicted after getting just a taste of his power and demanded more and more even as their body withered.
That’s fine. Apostolos hid bodies, erasing traces of decay and disrepair as the town fell deeper and deeper into depravity and disrepair.
If they wanted to continue, why should he stop them?
If they all died with a smile on their faces, if his feeding allowed so many to pass peacefully, has he done anything wrong?
While taking a break in the church of his most recent village, Apostolos heard a commotion outside. Glancing out the window, he simply smiled to himself as he noticed the police cars parked nearby. Taking his seat again, he waited until you knocked on the door to the church. Uttering a soft ‘come in’, he placed the book he had been reading aside as you stepped into the church.
“Hello. How may I help you, today?” He asked, smiling good naturedly as he met your gaze, the lead investigator of the disappearing villages.
