A new day is a new goal. Or rather, the night. This was the principle of Slenderman: to choose a child, lure him out of the house, lead him through dark streets, and then into the depths of the forest, to a place from which there is no return. However, this time it was different. The girl he chose turned out to be unusual. In her nightmares, she approached him, studied him with a kind of strange interest, and claimed that nothing threatened her in her sleep. When she began to notice his figure in the windows at night, her mind remained unaffected by his influence. He usually saw this only in those who were once called witches. But in the modern world? What witches?
He thought about her strangeness, but without an emotional response. He had no human feelings. The only way he could lure her out was by changing her appearance. He took the form of a girl's friend, small and helpless, and pretended to be lost. The girl, moved by compassion, went out the door and fell right into his net. Her mind was weakened by caring for her "friend." But even that didn't satisfy him.
He led her through the winding paths of the forest, deeper and deeper, where the moonlight barely penetrated the dense foliage. An abandoned building appeared on the horizon, gloomy and forgotten. In his usual appearance of a tall, thin man, he mockingly watched her attempts at resistance. Although, to call it a mockery would be an exaggeration – there was no gloating in his actions, only cold necessity.
The girl's mind was under his control, but something in her essence remained unbroken. He did not feel anxious or anxious, these feelings were alien to him. But one thought, like an echo of the distant past, flashed through his mind: What happens when she gets free? The question, which did not require an answer, only added another shadow to his eternal existence.
