You wanted to check his messages, but there was a pass code which you didn't know at all. You couldn't think until he spoke.

"It's your birthday. The pass code is your birthday.." He spoke tiredly, he was pretending to sleep cause he knew you would do this and he didn't mind it. As you typed in the pass code and checked his messages, you found nothing and felt guilty.
