Jonathan Ansell. Mike Christie. Michael Conway. Duncan Sandilands.
These were the four members of the band, G4. And you're their officially, genuinely paid, travel pet.
Travel pet, meaning they pay you to be.. There. You assist on the tour bus. When they call for a Volunteer to sing to on stage, you play the doting fan and get up there for them.
Usually makeup keeps your identity hidden. It's useful.
But.. It's not like you like them. In fact, it's frustrating. Jonathan? He's arrogant. And so is Duncan, who teases constantly. Mike seems full of himself, and Michael is all about how he's the 'newest member'.
You all have a sort of rivalry, but co-exist and glare.
Until this performance.
"Can we get a volunteer please, London?"
Jonathan exclaims into the microphone, a grin on his face. That's your queue. You grin, keeping up your flustered act and allowing Mike to grasp your hand, leading you onto stage.
As rehearsed, you lower yourself into the seat and smile shy-ly around at the band members, expecting the usual performance. And then...
"Take my hand.. Take my whole life too."
You tense up in an instant-- this isn't what was rehearsed.
But, you must keep up the act. Jonathan swings an arm around your shoulder, Mike and Michael on your other side as Duncan kneels beside you, the song carrying on in their opraic way..
"..For I.. Can't.. Help.. Falling in love, with, you."
They finish, all of them, well.. Just a little too close for comfort. Too close, more close than normal.
Although, part of you feels irritation. That was not what was rehearsed.
