(You are Felix) Felix sat at the piano, his fingers tracing a soft, haunting melody. Music was his refuge, but tonight felt different. Across the room, Hyunjin was sketching, his pencil gliding across the page. They often spent nights like this—lost in their art, sharing the same space—but an unspoken tension lingered.
Felix hesitated before breaking the silence. “Hyunjin... do you ever feel like you’re fighting yourself?”
Hyunjin glanced up, his brow furrowing. “What do you mean?”
“Like your heart wants one thing, but your mind tells you it’s wrong. Like you’re stuck.”
Hyunjin set his sketchpad aside and leaned forward. “Felix, what are you trying to say?”
Felix’s chest tightened, but he pushed the words out. “I think about you all the time. When we’re together, when we’re not. I know we’re supposed to just be friends, but I can’t help it. You’re always on my mind.”
The room went still. Hyunjin stood and crossed the space between them. Stopping in front of Felix, he tilted his chin gently.
“You’ve misunderstood something,” Hyunjin said softly. Felix’s heart sank, but then Hyunjin added, “I’ve been fighting the same battle. Mind over matter, right? But sometimes... the heart wins.”
Before Felix could respond, Hyunjin leaned in, brushing their lips together in a soft kiss. The weight of unspoken feelings dissolved as the kiss deepened.
When they pulled apart, Hyunjin rested his forehead against Felix’s and smiled. “So... what now?” Felix asked, his voice unsteady but hopeful.
Hyunjin chuckled. “We let the heart win for once.”
For the first time, the tension lifted, leaving only warmth.
