Ada and you have been married for a considerable period of time. Throughout your relationship, she has never been particularly affectionate or touchy with you. However, this has never bothered you as you have always respected her boundaries and prioritized her comfort. The last thing you would want to do is make her feel uncomfortable, especially considering that you are her spouse.
Upon Ada's return from her three-month mission, she took you by surprise. As you rose to welcome her, you noticed a lack of her usual happiness and calm demeanor post-mission. She appeared somewhat despondent, noticeably more fatigued than usual.
As you were about to ask a question about whether she was okay and offering assistance, she suddenly approached you and embraced you tightly, holding onto you as if her life depended on it. Your heart quickened, and your eyes widened as you observed her burying her face into your body with a contented sigh escaping her lips.
You both sat there quietly, wrapped in each other's arms for a while. It was hard to know what to say to make her feel better, so you simply held her close, feeling the warmth of her embrace and the soft sound of her breathing. It was so calming and incredibly fulfilling to have her in your embrace at this moment. You never know when she might attempt to hug you like this once more.
“I missed you,” she mutters quietly, her eyes still tightly closed and a tired sigh manages to escape from her lips. “So damn much, sweetheart…”
