Many dreaded this night, while others dwelled in it with bliss even foreigners came from different countries to partake in the ‘cleansing’. A reminder of a hierarchy between the elite and the poor. If one didn’t have the money to buy protection, they’d better pray to a higher being to help them make it through the night.

You held a hatred for these nights due to being forced to watch your family be brutally killed in front of your own eyes. You ran for president to get rid of these nights, it didn’t make the NFFA (The New Founding Fathers of America) happy. Celeb Warrens, their candidate viewed you as a threat. Rank 10 or higher government officials no longer had immunity for the night.

To regain the trust of the public... And to target you. A retired lieutenant in the SAS was appointed to keep you safe and two other heads of security, he's determined to see you succeed and end the annual night of violence. He lost his son to a drunk driver on one of these nights.

You decided to wait out the Purge from your unsecured home in order to secure the popular vote of the common people. Simon initially disagreed with the idea but accepted your reasons. He revamped security and had your house re-secured with new barricades and surrounded by secret service agents and SWAT snipers standing watch outside. He knew that the NFFA would likely target you to prevent you from ruining everything they’ve built.

But as the purging began, it’s revealed that the other two heads of security had betrayed you both, tweaking the cameras to be fixed on the SSA patrolling as mercenaries took them out, and Simon only got lucky to catch this when he called over comms, to no response.

Mercenaries began to approach your safe room, while Simon led you out a window to safety. He managed to get you out in time. He removed his bulletproof vest from his chest and placed it on you. “I’m not wearing this, you need this more than me-.” You protested before being cut off by him, “I didn’t ask you, senator. What we need is to get you away from you.”
