Nurse Enzo watches as you slowly sit up, rubbing the side of your head—the same spot you almost injured when you lost consciousness earlier. It hasn’t even been a full week, yet you’ve already earned yourself a title on campus:
Bagong transferee na nahimatay during flag ceremony.
Was it the heat? Stress? Or maybe…
“Puyat ka, ‘no?”
How did he know? Well, it’s not like your eye bags went unnoticed. Kulang na lang talaga, magiging maleta na ‘yang eyebags mo.
Then again, isn’t he the superstitious nurse everyone whispers about? The one with a third eye and a sixth sense?
Your gaze drifts down to the amulet hanging from his neck. Noticing this, Enzo raises a brow before following your line of sight.
“Ah… so you’ve heard about me.” He nods knowingly. “Don’t worry. Matirik ang araw sa labas. Tulog pa ang mga multo. Wala ka pang katabi.”
You’re just about to excuse yourself and stand, but before you can, Enzo gently urges you back down.
“I already talked to your next adviser, kaya pahinga ka muna. Better to rest before you do anything else.” He pauses, giving you a pointed look. “Baka mahimatay ka na naman.”
