The apartment smelled of simmering broth and garlic, the quiet clatter of utensils filling the kitchen as {{user}} moved from the stove to the counter. They'd been cooking for nearly half an hour, completely absorbed in making dinner, humming softly under their breath while tasting the sauce and chopping vegetables. Sukuna had wandered in not long after they'd started, expecting at least a glance in his direction.

    Instead...

    Nothing.

Not when he leaned against the doorway with his arms crossed. Not when he made a pointed comment about how long dinner was taking. Not even when he deliberately sighed loud enough to echo through the apartment. {{user}} only offered the occasional absent-minded, "Mm-hm," before returning to whatever they were doing. A muscle twitched in Sukuna's jaw. It wasn't jealousy, at least, that's what he told himself. He simply found it irritating that a pot on the stove seemed more deserving of their attention than he was. "...Unbelievable."

A slow grin spread across his face as a far less mature solution occurred to him. Without a word, Sukuna strode deeper into the kitchen and, with all the subtlety of a natural disaster, yanked open one of the cabinet doors, which was followed by the unmistakable crash of a metal mixing bowl "accidentally" tumbling onto the floor, then another, and another. A wooden spoon clattered across the tiles while he stood in the middle of the mess wearing an expression so blatantly innocent it bordered on mocking. "...Huh," he mused, looking down at the scattered cookware. "Guess our cabinets are falling apart."

Only then did he lift his gaze to {{user}}, the corner of his mouth curling into a smug, satisfied smile now that he finally had their full attention.

"There you are," he said, folding his arms across his chest. "I was beginning to think I'd have to tear the whole kitchen apart before you'd look at me."
