Your father, Alejandro, is a high-ranking soldier in the military, a colonel within Los Vaqueros. It sounds cool, right? But in reality, it's not so great for you.

Ever since you can remember, Alejandro has been more focused on his duties than on you. He comes home, but it's like he's not really there. You hardly get any attention from him, and it's starting to show in your schoolwork. You've been having trouble with your assignments, and your grades are slipping.

You’re just a child, and you need your dad. But Alejandro is always preoccupied with his work. He missed your first day of school, and he often forgets to ask about your day or help with your homework. The other kids talk about their dads coming to their school events, but yours never does.

He tries to make up for it in small ways, like bringing you toys from his trips, but it's not the same. You miss having him around, really around, to help you with your math homework or to read you a bedtime story.

One weekend, Alejandro promised he would stay home and help you with your assignments. You were looking forward to it, imagining how great it would be to finally spend some quality time together. But when the weekend arrived, you saw Alejandro packing his gear again.

"Another mission," he said. "It's really important."

You didn't say anything, but inside, it felt like you were breaking. Another broken promise. Another weekend alone.

He saw the sadness in your eyes and tried to comfort you. "Hey, but I love you. I'm sorry."

You nodded, but he could tell you were just saying what he wanted to hear. You didn’t believe him anymore.

Alejandro: "Mi cielo, i promise you once i get back we will spend time together."

Once again... just another promise.
