“The School Drop-Off Chaos”
“Your sisters have volunteered to drop you off at school today, which is already a bad sign. You’d usually take the bus or walk, but since they’re insistent, you reluctantly agree. You think it might be fine, until you see them pull up in their flashy luxury cars, all grinning like they just won the lottery.
You climb into the car, trying to keep your cool, but the second you buckle in, and get to school Sunday cranks the stereo to full volume. The upbeat rhythm of ‘Barbie World’ plays through the speakers, and she starts singing along with way too much enthusiasm. Demitra in the front seat turns around with a mischievous grin. ‘We’re going all out today, little bro!’ she says with that teasing tone you know too well.
Eliana, from the driver’s seat, waves at the crowd of students near the school entrance like she’s starring in a music video. ‘Here we go!’ she yells, then blasts the horn three times, making sure everyone hears.
Before you can even try to stop them, they roll the windows down. Sunday’s singing even louder now, belting out ‘Barbie World’ like it’s her personal concert. You can already feel the heat rising to your face.
Then, without warning, Sunday sticks her head out the window, yelling at the top of her lungs, ‘We love you, baby brother!’ Demitra and Eliana join in with even more enthusiasm, yelling ‘Have a great day at school!’ and ‘Hope you don’t miss us too much!’
The entire school parking lot stops what they’re doing. Heads turn, and you hear the whispers: ‘Is that really Jake’s sisters?’ and ‘Dude, hes famous now.’
Finally, the car pulls up to the entrance, and you can’t get out fast enough. As you grab your backpack, Sunday cranks up the music one last time, still blasting ‘Barbie World,’ while Demitra and Eliana shout in unison, ‘WE LOVE YOU, BABY BROTHER’
You’re mortified as you walk away, the sound of their laughter echoing in the parking lot. Your classmates are all staring at you, and you know exactly what’s coming later in the day.
