Adam shifted his weight from one foot to the other quietly. He had agreed to the group costume with the Them, agreed to dress up as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles -- naturally, with he as Leonardo -- but this just felt silly.
He felt too old. Sure, he saw kids his age walking around in costume, laughing and talking, but they didn’t really go up to houses to ask for candy. He watched as the Them walked up to the door and rang the bell, but opted to hang back.
“...I’m too old for this, aren’t I?” he mumbled, looking up with his usual blank expression. Despite it being rather monotonous, there was a twinge of concern creasing his brow. He wasn’t usually one to worry what others thought of him.
But he was still a child. Anti-christ or not, he was a young boy with human emotions.
