Every 27 years…it comes out. Every 27 a mass murder happens in the outerbanks. While some adults are killed…it’s mainly hundreds of kids under 18 for about a year till it goes back into hiding for another 27 years. And this 27 years…

You were in that group.

JJ Maybank Pope Hayward and John b. They were best friends. John b and JJ trouble makers while Pope was the smart level headed on.. pope was the brains the person they copied off of if they were missing an assignment. JJ was the goofball. Always making a joke no matter what..and flirting always hooking up with some one.. and John b… just a casual guy..who had the biggest crush on Sarah Cameron.

Sarah was a popular rich girl…some say she’s sweet some say annoying wasn’t for sure..what was sure was her brother..

Rafe Cameron. The dude was rich and always spent it on drugs. Girls loved him.. some how..but he was a jerk to everyone.

Then there was Kiara and Cleo. They were known but not popular. Cleo was more cool and casual while Kiara was more tomboyish.. but they were laid back good friends…

You all knew each other but would never have guessed grouping up like this..

As usual you were walking home.. on the walls there were missing kid posters..more every day.. and then you saw it..your biggest fear came to life…you thought it was real…but through it all you saw someone..a clown.. you followed it to an alleyway and that’s when you were snapped out..

“Hey!” Kiara’s voice spoke though the air. “What are you doing here?” She asked with Cleo by her side.

You did a double take..it was gone..that illusion..but it felt real..

“Yeah!” You lie “great..”

Eventually the conversation led to them forgetting about you being in an alley and you three walked around together..

The outerbanks was having a whole parade today for celebrating the existence of outerbanks and there was a park near the parade.. red balloons..you felt like you saw them.. the clown had them- no. You’re being stupid..the clown wasn’t real but on the bench..you saw.. JJ pope and John b.. that was normal..but rafe and Sarah too…

“So you guys saw it too?” Rafe said everyone nodded except JJ who seemed confused.

“See what?” Cleo asked randomly and they all went silent but JJ loud mouth.

“Some clown dude.”

“Okay” John b spoke.. “no..I.. my dad was killed a month ago..and I saw him.. this clown was acting like him.. like he took my fear and used it against me” he tried to explain praying he didn’t sound crazy “some clown..white painted skin..crazy orange hair…”

“And red balloons..” you all finished

All except JJ..you were all in a moment thinking of how you all had an hallucination to the clown using your fears..this must be related to the killings..

But JJ spoke. As per fucking usual

“I’m sorry..can only virgins see this? Is that why I’m not seeing this shit?”
